Gledswood Hills Public School is a new public school to meet growth in the SW Sydney growth area.

The new school is being constructed in two stages, which will ultimately cater for 1000 students.

Construction of Stage 1 was complete in 2020 with Stage 2 kicking off construction in late 2022

Our Role

Stage one comprises five blocks of classroom, library, assembly hall, indoor sporting courts, student amenities and administration offices

Externally, playing courts, tiered seating, landscape areas, new bus bay and on site parking for 45 cars.

The ancillary facilities, including the library, assembly hall, indoor sporting courts, administrative offices and bus bay have been designed for the total 1,000 student population

At this stage only 24 classrooms have been constructed, for the 600 student population, but link connections have been provided for the future stage two additional classroom block, to cater for the full 1000 student capacity, and the on site carparking has also been designed to incorporate an additional 30 car spaces in stage two.

Civil Works

There is a significant fall across the site with the ancillary facilities: Hall, administrative offices and library located on the high side of the site, consisting of two and three storey buildings, and the classroom blocks follow the slope down the site and are three storey buildings.

Extensive terracing of the site, and associated retaining structures were designed, including 3D bulk earthworks documentation to accommodate the proposed buildings and to facilitate the construction of the external carparking and external landscaping features.

Prestressed concrete was adopted for the upper floors to economically provide large span areas to suit the new teaching spaces and provide future planning flexibility. The library is located in a two-storey atrium space, incorporating full height glazing on the two elevations.
