Rozelle Town Centre

Woolacotts Consulting Engineers was engaged by Spackman Mossop Michaels Pty Ltd, via Inner West Council, to provide civil and traffic engineering services for the Rozelle Town Centre Project. This transformative initiative aims to revitalise Rozelle as a pedestrian-oriented village retail centre, enhancing public spaces and improving overall livability. Our engineering input supported the development of a master plan that integrates high quality urban design and landscape outcomes, guided by the Inner West Council’s Public Domain Design Guide.

With the upcoming opening of the Rozelle Interchange and Iron Cove Link motorways—key components of the West Connex network—Woolacotts undertook a review of the function and operation of Darling Street and Victoria Road. Our scope of work included a detailed review of existing flood maps and stormwater infrastructure to inform early design decisions, as well as overland flow analysis at key locations to ensure that proposed upgrades do not adversely impact surrounding properties. Preliminary stormwater drainage sketches were prepared to support future public domain improvements.

In parallel, we are provided traffic engineering advice on parking, road geometry, and intersection design in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and Transport for NSW specifications. Swept path assessments were also undertaken at nominated intersections to ensure safe and efficient traffic movement.
