College Street Cycleway

College Street cycleways was one of the first separated cycleways within the City of Sydney. It was located along College Street, Sydney between Macquarie Street and Oxford Street, adjacent to Hyde Park.

The cycleway was located off road, and required the existing kerb to be relocated, to create a cycle path between the new kerb and the park walls. This required alterations to existing services, including stormwater drainage.

Alterations were also made to existing pathways and walls, to retain pedestrian areas.

Woolacotts Consulting Engineers was involved from concept design through to completion of construction.  The construction phase of the project was challenging, due to the numerous services in the area and the space constraints.
