The Rural Clinical School Campus at Albury Wodonga opened in 2000. In 2007, the campus moved to a new purpose-designed building to accommodate the rapidly growing staff and student population.
This project consisted of a single Storey teaching facility for the University of New South Wales School Of Rural Health at the Albury Base Hospital. The building was a stand-alone structure within the overall hospital campus.
The building provides teaching space for medical students undertaking their rural health placement. It includes study areas, clinical teaching space and lecture rooms.
Woolacotts was engaged by Budden Nangle Michael Hudson. We undertook structural and civil engineering design for the project.
Following the need for additional space, the Albury Wodonga campus underwent a significant upgrade in 2012 with a multi-million-dollar expansion. The teaching capacity of the facility was approximately doubled with the additional of more tutorial rooms as well as significant upgrades of computer labs, simulation rooms and student / staff common rooms.
Woolacotts designed structural, civil and hydraulic portions of extensions to the building, this provided additional teaching and office space, as well as improved student and staff amenities.
