Qantas – A380 Hardstand

Qantas Airways limited proposed to construct new hardstand, to provide external maintenance facilities for a range of aircraft, up to 747s the works proposed consisted of:

• Demolition of and existing building
• New airside security fence and access gate
• New hardstand
• Office space for personnel involved with maintenance on the aircraft
• Wash down system, including collection and treatment of water
• Amenities facilities in the area
• Around power supplies for aircraft

Woolacotts undertook civil and structural and structural engineering design of the works.

This included confirmation that vehicles were able to man over around the area, clear of aircraft.
